Cookbooks

1925 Met Life Cookbook.  This book has been reproduced, but after looking at this one, I'd say this isn't one of them.  The pages are very darkened, there are folds to the pages, but no rips or tears.  There is quite a bit of kitchen residue on the back cover and the staples have partially pulled thru the cover paper. 

1950 Knudsen Recipe with letter from the company acknowledging the request for the book.  There are some minor bumps, bruises, folds and darkening of the pages, NO rips or tears.  There is a little soiling of the covers. 

1944 Southern Counties Gas Company.  There are some minor bumps, bruises, folds and darkening of the pages, NO rips or tears.  There is a little soiling of the covers. 

1933 Frigidaire Key to Meal Planning.  There are some minor bumps, bruises, folds and darkening of the pages, NO rips or tears.  There is a little soiling of the covers.  Fantastic 1930's book! 

1948 Knudsen Recipe Brochure.  This three fold brochure.  This one features recipes for hoop cheese (must be a basketball thing).  There are no rips or tears, just some darkening of the paper. 

Second Edition of a WWII rationing era.  Brought out in 1943, this is the 1951 revision. There are no rips or tears, just some darkening of the pages.  There is a piece of masking tape on the front cover.  This book is just beautiful. 

1961 Cutco Cookbook and Knife Identification Guide.  The book is chock full of great recipes and more important and identification guide for Cutco knives and their uses.  The book is slightly warped with the pages having some waviness.  There are no ripped, torn or missing pages, the binding is tight and in tact.

1960's Congressional Cookbook by Bob Wilson, Congressman from California. The book has no ripped, torn or missing pages, there are some minor bumps, bruises, scuffs and a few tiny spots. The book has recipes from wives of congress people and Republican Committee. The recipes look like some real winners and I have tried the Enchiladas which came out real tasty! 

1920's Di Giorgio Fruit Corp Banana Recipe Booklet. This 22 page booklet has minor bumps, bruises, some staining on the covers and inside, a ¼" tear on the front cover (pictured here). No ripped out or missing pages, there are a few small chunks missing from the edges of a page or two where someone spilled something on the edge and the page lost a chunk when it stuck together and was pulled apart (pictured here). I hope I look this good when I am 80+ years old, and great recipes too! 

Vintage 60's 7-UP High Ball Recipe Booklet, called a Mix Manual for Sportsmen. The Manual is 15 pages long and has recipes for Highballs for Sportsmen. It says Recipes tested and approved by Sports Illustrated Marketing Division. There are NO rips, tears, folds or penmarks, just some wrinkling from being used. this booklet is in great shape for it's age and from an era where soda makers would affiliate with liquor makers. 

Metropolitan Life Cookbook 1950's.  The pages are yellowed, but none are missing, ripped or torn, there is a few tiny dog ears. The cover on the other hand shows its wear. There is a fold top to bottom in the front cover, as you can see in the picture the staples area bears small separation. The back cover has some spots inside and out, most likely done in the kitchen while cooking.  

Carnation Fun to Cook Book, 1955.  The spiral bound hardboard covered book is aimed at children in the kitchen.  The covers have minor bumps, bruises, scuffs and a little soiling.  Inside there are no rips, tears or missing pages, just a little darkening of the pages from age.  There is a pen written name inside both the front and rear covers. 

1954 Hotpoint Electric Range manual and recipes.  The 75 page book has only minor bumps, bruises and a few scuffs to the covers.  Inside there are no rips, tears or missing pages.  Included is the original delivery receipt for the range in Freemont, California. 

Holiday Know How, Reynolds Wrap booklet Compliments of Stater Bros. Markets in So. California.  There are no rips or tears, just a few small spots and darkening from age.  Stater Bros. is very popular throughout California.

Sucaryl Recipe booklet compliments of Kustner's Main Street Pharmacy, Riverside California.  There are no rips or tears, just a few small spots and darkening from age. 

Paul Masson, Ways with Wines 1963.  The covers have minor bumps and bruises with the front cover missing a dog ear from the lower right corner.  Inside the pages have no rips or tears, just some signs of light usage.  Great cooking with wine recipes.

Cottage Cheese Recipe Book, California Dairy Industry Advisory Board.  The covers have no rips or tears, just some discoloration and small spots.  Inside the pages have no rips, tears or missing pages, just some signs of light usage.  Great recipes for healthy cottage cheese. 

"Let's Eat Out" Recipe booklet.  This 4 3/4" X 6 13/16" advertising recipe booklet highlights the usage of a multitude of products who paid for the publication.  Judging by the photos and illustrations I estimate the age to be 50's or 60's.  The covers have no rips or tears, just some light bumps and light dark spots.  Inside the pages have no rips, tears or missing pages, just some signs of light usage. 

Food for Health and Victory, by Pacific Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventists.  There is no date shown, but it looks 50's to me.  It has been well used, the covers have some chipping and small missing spots.  There is darkening and spots on both front and back.  Inside there are no missing pages, just darkening of the pages and cooking spillover spots.  Someone used this 14 page booklet a lot, I guess the recipes are good. 

Vintage New Variety in Meal Planning for the Diabetic, by Knox.  The covers and the insides of this 4 3/4" X 6 1/2" 30 page book, have no rips or tears, just some dark spots from the kitchen.  It is in very good shape except for the dark spots which do not interfere with the text or illustrations. 

Planters Peanut Oil presents, Appliance Cooking for All Seasons.  There is no date but it looks 70's.  Inside and out there are no rips, tears or missing pages, just a pencil mark or two.  23 pages full of recipes. 

Betty Crocker's Bisquick Cook Book, 1956.  There are 157 recipes and ideas, in 26 pages.  there are bumps and bruises, no rips tears or missing pages only a few tiny dog ears.  Super 50's chow! 

Metropolitan Life Cookbook 1950's.  There are no missing, ripped or torn pages, there is a few tiny dog ears. The covers have minor bumps, bruises and scuffs. Inside the pages are just beautiful with no rips, tears or pen marks.  Very good condition for it's age.

Meal Planning for the Sick and Convalescent, 1961 Knox Gelatin Inc.  There are NO rips, tears or missing pages.  There is some darkening in spots as well as some small spots. 

Uncle Harold's Fish, Fowl and Wild Game Recipes 1993.  This homegrown recipe book is in fine shape with no rips, tears or missing pages.  86 pages of great recipes from Uncle Harold.  Originally priced at $13.95! 

Four fold Carnation Cottage Cheese recipe Brochure featuring Martha Hunt.  There are no rips, tears or missing parts, just a few tiny spots in places.  Martha Hunt suggests a dozen ways to serve healthy nutritious cottage cheese. 

The Calumet Baking Book, 1950.  The covers exhibits darkening, spots and small separation where the book is stapled.  Inside the pages have soiling, spots, dog ear folds, but no rips or missing pages.  It is well used but has great recipes or it wouldn't show that usage wear!

Now You Can Make Roses, Cake Decorating for the Beginner, 1952.  It contains 14 pages of Icing recipes and instructions a bunch of designs, borders, flowers and helpful hints.  There are no rips, tears or missing pages, just spots and soiling from usage. 

O'Keefe & Merritt Cook Book 1950's. It has been well used, the covers have some chipping and small missing spots.  There is darkening and spots on both front and back.  Inside there are no missing pages, just darkening of the pages and some small spots.  Someone used this 87 page book a lot, I guess the recipes are good.  

Westinghouse Roaster-Oven 1956.  It has been well used, the covers have some chipping, spots and a lot of soiling.  Inside there are no missing pages, just darkening of the pages, spots and minor bumps and bruises.  The book has care and use instructions as well as recipes.  The book is well used, 50 pages, but the outside looks much worse than the inside.
