1930's
- 1940's Photos of Yellowstone
National Park. There (16) 3¼" X 5¼" black and white
photos mounted
to two pages
(both sides) of an old scrap book with pictures on both sides,
which didn't fare well thru time. The pictures
are marked as to what they are pictures
of. The pictures show as follows: Yosemite
Falls; Upper Falls; Lower Falls; Half Dome; 3 Sisters; El Portal
entrance with 1930's car; Inspiration Point; El Capitan; Mirror
Lake; and the Merced River. I have 2 pages from the destroyed
scrap book that came from the estate of a traveling salesman. He
loved to travel and take pictures.
The photos them selves are in good condition with no rips, the
same can't be said for the backing paper. The paper
that they are mounted on has seen much better days. There are a
few minor spots and bends on the pictures them selves, two of
the photos have slight separations at the edges (approx
1/16").

1930's - 1940's Photos of New
York, Chicago
and San Francisco. There (15) varying size photos approx
3¼" X 5¼" and one 4 3/8" X 5½" black and
white photos
mounted to two pages
of an old scrap book with pictures. The some of the
pictures are marked as to what they are pictures
of. The pictures
show as follows: Chicago and New York marked as 1935; Central
Park from the Plaza Hotel; Central Park and Rockefeller Ctr form
the RCA building; The Plaza Hotel; Opening of the Golden Gate
bridge; and the cruise Ship City of Honolulu after the fire from
this destroyed scrap book that came from the estate of a
traveling salesman. Now to the gory details: Unfortunately
the one pic of the Golden Gate under construction where you can
see missing spans, took the worst edge damage on the right side.
The picture
of the Golden Gate where the spans are in, but it is still
missing the deck, took a bend to the top right corner. The photos
them selves are in good condition the same can't be said for the
backing paper. The paper that they are mounted on has seen
much better days. There are a few minor spots, bends and
waviness, to the pictures them selves (Burnt Ship Photo). Except
for the unfinished bridge photo, the rest are in good condition

Vintage 8" X 10" B&W Photo Hoover
Dam taken from the water. There are no rips or tears, just
some minor waviness from handling. The photo must have been
taken sometime in the 1930's or 1940's, if you look closely with
an eyepiece there is a truck of the same vintage parked by the
power plant. The Hoover
Dam not only produced hydroelectric power, but also
controlled flooding down stream in the Imperial Valley in
California. The first concrete was poured in 1933, with water
being captured in the newly formed Lake Mead in early 1935. Wow,
it takes most Highway Departments that long to
"improve" just a mile or two of State Highway!

1949 California
Oil Company (Calso)
Annual Meeting 11" X 14" Photo. This photo was taken
at the Annual Sales Conference, Hotel Roosevelt, New York City.
Nine years later Standard
Oil would name it's Calso subsidiary Chevron.
The photo has some bends and wrinkling from being jostled around
over the years, NO rips or tears see the photo of the back side.
This photo would look great framed.

1916
GMO. Collignon
Y Cia. Guadalajara
Locomotive
Photo. It is 9 3/4" X 7 9/16" without the backing, the
backing measures 12" X 14". It is dated on the back 1916
so the thing is around 89
years old. The backing is rather tore up around the edges,
please enlarge all the photos to see all the damage to the
backing. The picture
itself has bumps, bruises, minor scratches a little wrinkling,
missing a dog ear in the lower right corner and is coming
unstuck from the backing. Rare early
century foreign steam
locomotive photo. If I were to keep it I would matte it into
a frame with the backing attached so they never get
separated.
